The Advanced Seminars will meet on the following dates:

Dcember, 5-7, 2008 Dr. Timothy Cronin will talk to us about Tip-Edge® orthodontic treatment and how it will enable us to finish cases more quickly and with fewer complications.
The lecturer is a 1976 graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry and has been actively practicing orthodontics for approximately 20 years. He graduated from the IAO Millennium Institute in 2000. Although he attained his Senior Instructor status in 2002, he remains a true student of the art, science and mechanics of orthodontic treatment. He has studied Tip-Edge with Drs. Yates, Kesling and Morein, Controlled Arch and straight wire finishing under Drs. Sim and Galella and continues to enhance his education with multiple other straight wire educators. Over the years, he has developed a unique orthodontic technique which combines the light forces of Tip Edge brackets with the mechanics of Controlled Arch; a technique he has coined TECA. He lectures nationally, is currently the only writer with a standing column in the IAO International Journal of Orthodontics and consistently is blessed with over 150 cases of orthodontic treatment at any given time.

This course is designed for both the beginning and advanced practitioner who is a student of the art of orthodontics. The education will initiate with an explanation of the vision needed to create beautiful faces and perfect smiles as well as guidelines as set forth in the literature. Each practitioner should receive the complete knowledge needed for the ability to create exceptional orthodontic results simply, successfully and profitably.

However, vision without the mechanical ability to consistently achieve exceptional results is useless. Thus, this course will center on a new system of orthodontic mechanics which combines the Kesling Tip-Edge bracket system and Begg light force mechanics to consistently correct skeletal/dental malocclusions with Controlled Arch straight wire mechanics to exactly place anterior teeth in the proper position in the face for dento/facial goals. The Tip-Edge ability to have a power assisted 3rd stage finish is unparalleled. No other mechanical system is so simple, so consistent and so accurate. This course will include a hands-on wire bending portion as well as a “starter” kit. The ultimate goal is for each practitioner to walk into his/her office Monday morning and get started on a fully successful case with confidence.
